PRAISING GOD WITH SONGS

1/3/10-   Just got home from Hiland Park Baptist Church, where we were in concert with Tammy Kirkland, Craig Edwards, & The Gann Family.  Calvin, thought it would be great to showcase the ministries from our church to let folks know that we are out doing Gods work when we are not in our home churches. God has been good to us and we wanted to share that with you!  We love what we do, and it's always nice to sing at home. I hope they have us back!
Graig was led by God to have a prayer time after the fourth song. That is not something that happens very often in the singing world, but when God tells you to do something you need to listen! Thank you Craig for listening!!! The alter filled up with people needing prayer. It was great! I know that I was touched by the Holy Spirit. It was awsome!!! In the words of my sister-in-law Beverly Creel, "The church was filled to the rafters with the spirit of GOD"!
Everyone I talked to said they had a great time and some said they wished it would have lasted longer. I think the singers would have went on longer too. I hope we can do this again sometime soon. It was a blast!!!!

Okay, so this New Year's resolution is to keep this blog current!  I'll do my best.

1/1/10-    We had a great Watch Night service in Montgomery, Alabama at Fannin Road Baptist Church.  The people there are wonderful!  Fannin Road Baptist is a growing church that is doing whatever it takes to reach the lost, starting with a great bus ministry for youth.
Jason was down and out with the flu, he's been running a fever for the last two or three days, so he wasn't able to be with us.  On about a 1 1/2 hour notice, Tommy McCormick, of the McCormick Family, said that he would be able to help us by learning Jason's part during the 4hour ride to the church.  Wow!  He did a fantastic job and the people there loved him!  Thanks Tommy, great job!
It's always an adventure when you travel with Steve and at about 3:30am, on the way home, we were rear-ended by a drunk driver!  Everyone is okay with the exception of the drunk who sustained a nasty knot on the head from his windshield.  The police said that he would be checked out at the hospital and then go straight to jail.
Once the drunk woke up, (either from his drunken stupor or from the knot on the head), Steve wanted to put another knot on his head for messing up the bus!  Steve kept his cool though and stated that he was thankful that no one was hurt and that maybe God had put us there to keep the drunk from killing himself or someone else by hitting a different type of vehicle.  The drunk guy told the police that he didn't even remember leaving the bar so he was in trouble from the start.
We hope that he had insurance to repair the $4,000 to $5,000 in damage he did to the bus but right now we ask that you help us to pray for him that this is a wake up call to get his life in order.
Please continue to pray for travel safety each week for Emerald City Quartet as we go about doing God's work.
